It is a nice custom in the New Apostolic Church in India that our confirmands receive a Confirmation Certificate featuring a special letter from our Chief Apostle.
The year 2015 was no different than the previous years: Young New Apostolic Christians received the confirmation blessing, which strengthened them in their endeavour to keep their vow to profess Jesus Christ in words and deeds.
The Confirmation Vow
After a short address by the officiant, the confirmands attest their willingness to pursue their future way of life as New Apostolic Christians in faithfulness to God with the following vow:
“I renounce Satan and all his work and ways, and surrender myself to You, O triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in belief, obedience, and the earnest resolution to remain faithful to you until my end. Amen.”
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is an act of blessing in which the confirmand vows to lead a life of faith that corresponds to the gospel of Christ in personal accountability to God.
Every year young New Apostolic Christians take charge of their faith life according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Confirmation Blessing is given to our young members once they cross the age of 14. The season for Confirmation begins on the Sunday after Easter and ends on the Sunday before Pentecost.
