As we come to the end of another month, we hope that you have enjoyed discovering more about the growth of the New Apostolic Church in India. With the hard work and determination of the District Apostle Kraus and the fervent faith of the first members, the doctrine of the New Apostolic Church was taken all across India. People gathered from far and wide in halls and open spaces, on foot and on animal just to hear the word of God from the altar!
Sowing the Seeds of the Holy Spirit
The then District Apostle Kraus made numerous trips to different parts of India to spread God’s work of salvation. Many souls who were interested in hearing the Gospel of Christ and the Apostleship and also expressed a strong desire to receive the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Sealing. Some of the first Holy Sealings were done by District Apostle Kraus in Mumbai at Hume High School.
Faith and Fellowship
As thousands of new members were sealed in Divine Services held across the country, people gathered in large fields and halls to listen to the gospel of Jesus Christ from the altar. The New Apostolic Church welcomed all people irrespective of their backgrounds, allowing them to experience true fellowship and unity in Christ.
Fishers of Men
As the number of members grew rapidly, it became necessary to ordain many more ministerial brothers to take care of the growing flock. Many priests and District Evangelist who were ordained during these early years later became the first Apostles in India.
The Growth of Apostleship in India
Sealing and ordinations took place all over the country and congregations started to spring up everywhere. By 1975, India had six Apostles of its own who were in charge of various parts of this beautifully diverse country.
