First Article of Faith
The first three Articles of Faith revolve around the trinity of God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This first one is about God, the Father.
The Creation
God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. As one among many examples of God’s creation, let us consider our solar system.
It functions with miraculous precision. The length of the solar year has been constant for millennia. The distance of the earth from the sun is calculated so precisely that conditions are favourable for sustaining life on earth.

God is Love
On the sixth day of creation God made human beings in His image. He placed them over the creation which He entrusted to them (Genesis 1: 26–27). He planted a garden for them in Eden and personally spoke with them. Since humans were created in God’s image, they also have the ability to make free decisions.
When Adam and Eve committed the first sin, they got separated from God and were no longer perfect. However, God did not turn away from them. He loved them and promised to send a Redeemer. When the right time had come God sent His Son (cf. John 3: 16). Jesus lived entirely for His Father’s will. He prayed: “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am”.
God Manifests Himself
God elected us even before He made the world and drew us to Himself. Through Jesus Christ, God established the way back to Him which is accessible to us today.
Through the Apostles and the ministers ordained by them.
- God proclaims His word to us, which shows us the way to redemption,
- We are incorporated into the new covenant through Holy Baptism with water,
- We share fellowship with Jesus Christ by partaking of Holy Communion.
Apostles of Jesus dispense the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is in this manner that we receive childhood in God and the prerequisite for becoming a firstling.
