We fondly remember our retired Apostle Egnati Lukas Jagtap who passed away suddenly in his home town of Vaijapur in Maharashtra on the 25th November, 2019. Family, friends and members of the New Apostolic Church gathered together at Padegaon Christian cemetery in Aurangabad the next day to lay his earthly body to rest.
Faith in Christ gives us certainty for eternal life
The funeral service was conducted by Apostle Pravin Gajbhiv and based on the bible verse taken from Psalms 71:5-6: “For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on You; You brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise You.”
These words were in keeping with the way that Apostle Jagtap lived his life. He had always turned to God in times of trial and his zeal and enthusiasm for God’s work lived in His heart till his last breath.
Serving the Children of God
Apostle Jagtap was born on the 16th of June 1963 in the Vaijapur Tehsil of Aurangabad District in Maharashtra. He was ordained into the Apostle ministry on the 18th January 2004 by Chief Apostle Richard Fehr in Sri Lanka. During his ministerial work he travelled into various parts of Maharashtra and cared for the souls there. Having worked as an Apostle in the districts of Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Dang, Jalna, Nashik, Mumbai and Pune for almost 14 years, he received his retirement blessing on 12 November 2017 in Raipur.
He always wanted to serve with a true heart and help the Lord’s great work by preparing the Bride of Christ. He was fondly known for his sensitive and friendly nature with the world around him, and will be remembered as someone who loved to spread the gospel of Christ through his living testimony.
Finding Hope and Strength in the Lord
Throughout his life, Apostle Jagtap drew his hope and strength from the Lord. We wish that his bereaved wife and two sons Sanket and Aniket can also draw their strength from the Lord during this time of loss.
