It is often said that when women get together to pray God listens for there is nothing more beautiful and powerful than a woman that prays. In Jhajhara, a Sisters Meeting was organized for the first time, and what a rich time of sharing, prayer and fellowship it was!
A little outside the cool and hilly Dehradun lies a green haven Jhajhara. Most of the members live in Jhajhara and meet regularly for Divine Service and other church related activities. The women from church decided it was time they have a women’s meet and after some planning, the first sisters meeting was held. Vijaya Naik coordinated the meeting and eight women attended. It was a beautiful and rich time of fellowship. Friendships were developed and stories of faith and encouragement were shared. Each woman realized they were special in God’s eyes and they were chosen to be New Apostolic for a reason.
A Service that Stirred Hearts into Action
The sisters meeting was followed by a Divine Service with Apostle Michael Naik. The Bible verse chosen was Psalm 40:2-3: He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth — Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.” Apostle Naik titled his message, Being a Christian in Everyday Life. He shared how the Son of God came into the world to serve those who believed in Him, and how Jesus chose Apostles and sent them out to equip the church with the Petrine Office. He reminded them that each one of them was called to serve God by serving their neighbor and joining together to edify the church.
Women on a Mission
The women were stirred in their hearts. Even though they were meeting for the first time, they got very attached to each other and enjoyed talking about their faith. Many of them stepped forward to support the church – some volunteered to help in Sunday school, some by visiting church members, and others signed up their names for planning and coordinating church activities.
Every woman returned home excited to be part of God’s work and could not wait to attend the next Sisters Meeting.
