Thanksgiving is the act of giving thanks to God for everything that we receive at his hand. The New Apostolic Church celebrates the first Sunday of October as Thanksgiving Sunday when all members of the church can come together and express their gratitude towards the Lord.
India is a land known for its diversity in language, customs, tradition and lifestyles. This diversity is reflected in the ways in which the congregations across the country express their thankfulness. When our members come together to celebrate Thanksgiving, it is like a tide of thankfulness sweeping across the nation. The altar fills with the offering of thanksgiving brought by each member in the congregation.
Count Your Blessings
It is not always easy to give thanks, but it is important to do this in order to experience God’s will accomplished in His children’s lives. We remember His natural and spiritual creation, His love and our experience of his blessings especially on this day.
Thanksgiving helps us take stock of all that we have received and look into our feelings of thankfulness.
