Every year, our dear District Apostle Mark Woll shares a Thanksgiving letter with our brothers and sisters in the church. This year too, he has written a heartfelt message, accompanied by a note of personal thanks. As he prepares for his upcoming retirement, these words carry special significance.

Please continue reading below to find his Thanksgiving letter. His personal note, along with the translated documents in regional languages, is also attached at the end of the article.

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our Church Thanksgiving approaches in a few months' time. Often in the past, the question was raised: when is the right time to begin preparing for our Thanksgiving Day? The answer is “today and now!” Our Thanksgiving preparation is perpetual, every day and all year long.

What a great opportunity to reflect on how we can show our gratitude to God. Our motto for this year gives us a clear indication of the many ways to exercise thankfulness to God by taking the “time to do good.” When we speak and act in the name of Jesus Christ, we reveal His nature and our relationship with Him. To do good means we seek to do His will, follow Christ’s example and adhere to the gospel.

Acting in the name of Jesus Christ means serving Him, declaring our love, our trust and that we belong to Him. Our kindness towards others, our willingness to forgive and our contribution to the unity and development of the Church bear witness to our gratitude to God.

Our personal reflection of God’s greatness and grace upon us moves us towards our Thanksgiving. We appreciate His gifts and His blessings, both spiritually and naturally, in every facet of our lives. We express our gratitude to God in our prayers, in the divine services we attend, through our offerings and in serving Him and our neighbour.

Our focus remains the return of Jesus Christ, which is a wonderful future God has secured for us! It is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving today, tomorrow and for all eternity.

Our Church Thanksgiving Day on Sunday, October 5, 2025, holds special significance for us as New Apostolic Christians. More than mere tradition, it is a teaching of thankfulness, an opportunity to tune our hearts towards gratitude, and to express our love for God and our Church. It is my wish that every child, all our young people, all our ministers with their families and all our members may experience the manifold blessings and joy derived from preparing their hearts and offering of thanksgiving.

Together with the Apostles in the Canada District, we wish you, your families, and the congregations a blessed Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Mark Woll
