At Easter, Christendom celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a miracle and remains a mystery.
The Risen One showed Himself to many people. The first people to whom He appeared were the women at the tomb, then the two disciples who were on their way from Jerusalem to Emmaus, and then the Apostles in Jerusalem and at the Sea of Galilee. Apostle Paul relates that more than 500 brethren saw the Lord shortly after His resurrection.
Through Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection from the dead, Christians have a well-founded hope for eternal life. Christ has made it possible to annul death and bridge the separation between mankind and God.
In Holy Communion the believers share in the victory of Christ.
