After his ordination as an Apostle, Prabhakar Beergi was assigned with the state of Telangana as his working area. Telangana currently has eight District Rector Areas (DRA). Following is his report of his first visit as an Apostle to the DRA in Jangaon.
Deeply Rooted – Brothers Meeting in Jangaon
I had scheduled my first visit to Jangaon area from the 26th – 29th of January 2018. The trip was very exciting; on the first day, 15 brothers (including Bishop Vijay Kumar) attended the brothers meeting at Jangaon central church. After a brief introduction, I shared with the brothers few thoughts from the All India Apostles & Bishops meeting at Raipur, which had been conducted by our dear Chief Apostle.
“We as Ministers are servants of God and our job is to tell and do what our master told and taught us. We can serve God by serving His children, by helping them to remain faithful and enter into the kingdom of God. To do that, we have to make sure that our members are deeply rooted in love, faith and hope.”
In the evening brothers left on their journeys back to their homes, but the message about being “deeply rooted” was imprinted in their hearts.
The day was not yet over for us, we took a journey of about 30 kilometers by auto-rickshaw to reach one of our congregations called Mallampally. Thirteen people were waiting to be served, so a short “text service” was conducted (without Holy Communion). Afterwards, we had fellowship with the priest’s family until late in the night.
Congregation Survey
The next day we had planned to do a survey and inspection of all the congregations and buildings in the area. We had to start the day early in order to cover survey as many congregations as possible – we ended up seeing eight. During this survey, we not only visited our church buildings, but we could also go to the houses of our members where we prayed with them and spent some wonderful time with kids, young people and the elderly.
Family Visits and Divine Service
On 27th night, we reached Palakurhty congregation and stayed at the house of one our members, as we do not have a hotel in that area. It was a wonderful time of fellowship there: the family and local brothers gave us a warm welcome, and we all sat for a family prayer praising God. I conducted a text service, after which we enjoyed fellowship with the members and the beloved family.
The next day was a Sunday, so we all gathered at our Church and experienced a wonderful Divine Service. The sermon was based on Mark 6:37, “But He answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.”
After the Divine service we had fellowship with the congregation and visited few houses of our members.
The trip ended with a meeting in Suryapet, where our brothers had done many arrangements and gave us a warm welcome. 17 brothers (including Bi.Vijay Kumar) were gathered here. We had wonderful and fruitful meeting and started our journey back home in the evening.
