A three day Vacation Bible Study (VBS) programme was held from 27th to 29th April 2015 in Mallampeta which is in Addanki District. Eighty-five enthusiastic children arrived on the first day and were excited to begin their journey of learning and fun.
A journey of learning
The subject for the first day was the ‘Three Sacraments’ and the ‘Ten Commandments’. The learning session was followed by a quiz, skits and games which helped the children to understand the topics thoroughly.
The subjects for the second day were more intense, consisting of, the ‘Ten Articles of our Faith’. Each article was elaborated on by using a bible story so that the children could understand each of them and their relevance to the bible and our faith. The children were enthusiastic enough to participate in the all activities planned.
End of the Beginning
The program came to an end with a special Divine Service for the children conducted by Bishop Prasad Somala. The bible text was taken from Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God’”.
After the Divine Service there was an award ceremony that made the children feel special and encouraged their participation. Each child was also provided with a badge with the photo of our District Apostle Helper David Devaraj as a token of love.
