The youth from the Bareilly and Lucknow congregations experienced their first ever two-day youth meeting in Kathgodam, Uttarakand. It was a rich time of learning and growing in the faith as well as participating in many fun activities. With a two exciting days, it was no wonder the youth were sad to see the two days pass so quickly.
The Perfect Mix of Faith and Fun
Fifteen youth were treated to their first ever youth event. The central theme behind the meeting was equipping the youth with basics about the faith, their spiritual future and what it means to be the Bride of Christ. While the lessons were spiritually heavy, Bishop Fred made sure that there were lighter moments as well where the youth were involved in fun games like musical chairs, spin the bottle and Bible quizzes. The prizes made the games more interesting.
Learning How to Bless our Enemies
On the second day, Apostle Mahesh Lal conducted a Divine Service for the youth. The theme of the message was from 1 Peter 3:8-9, “Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” The youth were reminded that God has called us to bless us and to also be a blessing to others, even to our enemies.
After the Divine Service the youth visited the Gola river and the Gola Barrage which is a dam in Kathgodam, where they went to enjoy the beauty of the river and the dam. On their return the youth participated in some cultural activities where they got to showcase their individual talents like singing, dancing and acting.
The first ever youth meeting was declared a success and the youth of Bareilly and Lucknow congregations returned home with strengthened faith, happy memories, and eagerly anticipating the next youth meeting.
