After a meeting with the Apostles and Bishops, and an evening of showcasing India’s culture, Chief Apostle Schneider’s visit to Raipur culminated with the Divine Service at Gujarati School on Sunday, 12 November 2017. For New Apostolic Christians in India, this was the most awaited event of the year, as most from North India had never seen or heard directly from a Chief Apostle. Message for the Congregation in Raipur Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider based his sermon on a Bible verse from Revelation 1:9 “I, John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Before taking on the bible text, Chief Apostle Schneider conveyed a special message out of the Holy Spirit for everyone present: “People of God, don’t fear. The will of Your Father will be done. Our Father is the almighty God. Nothing and no one can hinder Him from doing His will.” The Kingdom of God in the Past, Present and Future After an introduction of the background to the bible text, our Chief Apostle spoke about different […]
The highlight of the Apostles and Bishops Meet in Raipur was the address of our Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider on Saturday, 11th November 2017. All Apostles and Bishops from India and Bangladesh were present, and the Apostles and Bishops of Pakistan joined via video conference. Deeply Rooted The Chief Apostle began his address by referring to the difficult conditions and violence in which the leaders of the church had to serve, especially in India and Pakistan. It was important for the future for the members to be deeply rooted in our faith and in Jesus Christ. The roots of a tree cannot be seen, but how deeply it is rooted can be witnessed when there is a storm or drought. Our Chief Apostle chose the parable of the sower and stressed the importance of being “deeply rooted”. Deeply Rooted in Faith We are strong when we are deeply rooted in the faith that God loves us, and the true proof of this is that His son accepted to die for us. Our belief in Jesus Christ, His death, resurrection and victory over death and evil is also a matter of faith which will help us withstand the works of evil today. […]
All Apostles and Bishops from India and Bangladesh were invited from the 8th of November 2017, so that deliberations and meetings could be held on the 9th and 10th, on various topics related to their common responsibilities. New Sunday School Material Sister Lily and brother Robert were just back from Manila where the new Sunday school material had been launched. They were thus invited as guest speakers to introduce the program on how teachers could utilize the abundant Sunday School material that was now available online. The NAC India’s 2018 calendar was introduced which accentuated this topic as well. The highlight of the meetings was the address of our Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider on Saturday the 11th of November 2017, in which the Apostles and Bishops of Pakistan joined via video conference. A Personal Touch to the Wives The Chief Apostle opened with a prayer of much thankfulness, and interceded for the presence of Jesus in our midst along with the power and light of the Holy Spirit. He specially thanked the sisters for their support which was mostly invisible compared to that of their husbands. He acknowledged that it was not easy for them to distinguish between the man […]
For the first time in the history of the church’s activities in India, an online registration system was introduced for a Divine service which proved to be very efficient. This process not only made it easier for members to reserve their seats, it also provided the organizers with interesting and insightful facts about the attendees which can be seen below. Registration Data The minimum amount for registration was INR 500/- and there was also an option of contributing through donations. Thirty-eight generous donors contributed INR 2,38,000/- (almost 3,700 USD). Being the first time, we are overwhelmed and very thankful for this great start. The limited seating capacity at the venue allowed for maximum 950 registrations, of which almost 500 seats were blocked for the members from Chhattisgarh and Odisha. The remaining seats were kept open for the rest of India. According to the registration data, the gender ratio of the congregation is estimated to be 45% women and 55% men. More than half of the attendees are below 35 years of age, and almost 100 children (below 14 years) have registered, too. Our Diverse Congregation The Divine Service was mainly targeted at the Hindi speaking members, and our data confirmed […]
Promotions for the event began almost a year ago when the theme for the 2017 calendar was chosen. It focused on twelve previous Chief Apostles visits to India, the first one dating back as far as 1993. Over the course of the year, the calendar was a constant reminder of the forthcoming visit of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider to Raipur in November 2017. This and other promotional activities carried out throughout the year served to build excitement and anticipation for the event to come. CG 04 CA 2017? “CG 04 CA 2017” is a unique number dedicated to the visit of our Chief Apostle (CA) this year (2017). This is derived from a typical registration number plate of vehicles in India. The first two digits represent the state (CG for Chhattisgarh) and the next two numbers stand for the area (in Chhattisgarh, 04 stands for Raipur). The remaining six figures are allotted sequentially by the Transport Department. We innovated ‘CA 2017’ as our unique code for the visit of our Chief Apostle. Promoting the Event across India Hence, ‘CG 04 CA 2017’ was developed as a key element for all promotional activities. Many photographs were taken of Raipur which were […]
When the Chief Apostle accepted an invitation to come to India for a visit, it brought much joy to the New Apostolic community. Earlier Chief Apostle visits had been arranged in places like Mumbai and Hyderabad, being central and southern cities of India. This time he is coming to Raipur. Raipur, the Capital of Chhattisgarh The state of Chhattisgarh was carved from the state of Madhya Pradesh in 2000 and is among the four recently formed states of the 29 states in India. Each state runs independently, almost like another country by itself. The languages spoken here are mainly Chhattisgarhi and Hindi. The state is rich in mineral wealth which attracts opportunists. On the other hand, these minerals are in thick forests where the tribals live off the forest and fiercely protect their natural habitat from invasions. Chhattisgarh is a state where the Christian community is very small and dominated by a Hindu culture. In short, it is a challenge to have Christian gatherings here. Raipur used to be a quiet, peace loving town close to the bustling industrial steel city of Bhilai. After acquiring capital status, major changes began: Naya Raipur (New Raipur) was formed as the administrative headquarters […]
Only 17 days from today, around 1000 brothers and sisters will gather in Raipur for a very special Divine Service with Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider. While all attendees are looking forward to a tremendous blessing on that day, some may be wondering how everyone can be served Holy Communion in a peaceful, orderly, and efficient way. Video explains the “Rotating System” The planning committees of this year’s Chief Apostle visit have asked themselves not only how it can be done, but also how it can be explained to as many as possible. This has been the wish of Apostle David for a long time, and finally, there is a short video which shows the Procedure for Holy Communion which is called the Rotating System. By following these instructions, it is ensured that every person receives Holy Communion in an orderly, peaceful and calm fashion, and that the serving completes in a very short time. All members who will attend the Divine Service are requested to watch and share this video with as many as possible.
In Nagpur, a group of New Apostolic Christians celebrated the birthday of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider by reaching out to the elderly. This was followed by preparations for Thanksgiving in Ghugus-style: with a Biryani Fete. The Chief Apostle‘s Birthday, a Reason to Reach Out On 18 September, brothers and sisters in Nagpur decided to celebrate our Chief Apostle‘s birthday at an old age home in order to spread the happiness among the elderly. Around 60 elderly were dropped at the Panchwati Vrudh Ashram by relatives or family. When they heard about the Chief Apostle‘s birthday, they conveyed their greetings and blessing to him. It was a rich time of fellowship and sharing experiences, and may of the elerdly requested for regular visits and prayer meetings. Their zeal to stay happy in spite of being mentally and physically weak was an inspiration for everyone present. Spiritual talk went hand in hand with snacks and tea, and both was a delightful and refreshing. Biryani Preparations for Thanksgiving With Thanksgiving Day approaching – this year on 1st October 2017 – the brothers and sisters in Nagpur hatched a plan to prepare a Biryani Fete. This idea was born in Ghugus a few years ago as a creative contribution […]
My dear brothers, sisters and dear friends, Greetings once again. It is now certainly time for another update. A few days ago, as we went past the “3 months to go” milestone for the special Divine Service with our Chief Apostle, I was really excited that we were able to stick close to our timeline and open registrations for the event around this date. Online Registrations and Donations Although I was not able to write and alert you of this, many came to know, and the word has begun to spread rapidly. Within the past week, 150 seats were blocked by registering members, and about Rs.31,000/= was received as donations. Great going indeed. I noticed that most wanted to sit in front, but please be aware that while everybody cannot be in front, we will also have 2 big 10 feet x 10 feet screens at a place where everyone can view the whole service clearly. Even if you are in the balcony. In fact, that may be a better view. I do trust that apart from our registration amounts we will be honest with our tithing and liberal beyond that. Please do not hesitate to approach well-wishers and non-New-Apostolic […]

My dear brothers and sisters, dear friends, Today we are exactly four months away from being served by our Chief Apostle in Raipur at 11 am on November 12, 2017. I do trust that you are all excited to hear God’s direction for His work in India through His servant. On November 11th 2017 (the previous day), from 4 pm onwards, we wish to showcase the cultural diversity in which we live and serve. This will be attended only by our Chief Apostle, his guests and those who have arrived, and are present on that day. Through this message, I wish to make you all aware of the great responsibility we all have, to pray for this day, as well as bring in sacrifices of your time and contributions. This will surely bring upon us all, and our country a tremendous blessing. Most of you may have heard by now that you will require a minimum of Rs.500/= to secure entry to the limited seats available. Please do not consider this as an entry fee. It is not. What we wish is to improve on our habit of honest tithing. That is to bring to God the ‘first’ and the […]
For New Apostolic Christians, the Chief Apostle ministry holds the highest spiritual authority and a leading position for all Apostles worldwide. His visit to India in November means a big blessing and spiritual direction, both for the work on the subcontinent and for each member individually. Since 1993, the New Apostolic Church India has seen Chief Apostles visit multiple times and in different parts of the country (and some of them are featured in our 2017 calendar). Every visit involves a huge excitement and joy, but also a lot of planning and preparation. This time is no different: Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh was chosen as the venue for this year’s visit, and it will be the first time for a Chief Apostle to be with members and ministers in this part of India. Discussions, Planning and Exploring The moment our members heard that Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider would visit India in November 2017, their joy knew no bounds. A special task force was set up and planning and preparation started in earnest. In April, a four-day meeting with the local team was held in Helen Hall in Gass Memorial because of its easy accessibility and connectivity to public transport. Everyone was involved in the meeting – District […]
